As the trees grow and fill out it’s become increasingly difficult to water the meadow. a lot of the water from standard sprinklers simple hits the tree and drips down to the soil.
Time to try some telescopic irrigation.
After becoming increasingly frustrated with the quality of the plastic sprinklers with internal gearboxes we decided to opt for a height adjustable traditional metal head. These are basically traditional lawn sprinklers mounted on a tripod. There’s very few mechanical parts and from reading other blogs these last the longer.
Following install of two sprinklers
To ensure maximum water coverage there was a quick pruning of all the Palo Verde trees. Currently these two alone can water the area that was covered by three plastic gearbox sprinklers.
